01 Tender Defender - F.E.F.E.
One of the myriad melodic punk EPs that emerged from the LATTERMAN/Iron Chic/RVIVR gene pool. I listened to this song on repeat last night while I was driving to do some rec league goalkeeping. Great tune to get you fired up to go throw yourself at the ground for an hour. O)))

02 Viagra Boys - Sports
Baseball. Cigarettes. Weiner Dogs. Naked Boys. Barbeque. Gettin' high with your friends down at the basketball court. Swedish modern indie rock band with an American lead singer who has the word LOS tattooed on his forehead in a very crude handwriting style. Volleyball. Ping Pong. Surfboard. Short Shorts. Sports. Released as a single in 2018 and later included on the album Street Worms, both on the record label Year0001. B

03 Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band - Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles
For some reason, this Captain Beefheart record has been doing the trick for me. I'm doing a bunch of work on my house, and its great to put on in the background and get shit done. Such a good, off kilter song. Usually end up stopping whatever I'm doing when this one comes on. JC

04 Stevie Wonder - Maybe Your Baby
I've got a pretty shameful confession to make, and its that I haven't really listened to a lot of Stevie Wonder in my lifetime. This weekend I put Talking Book on for a spin, and was blown away by the second song, Maybe Your Baby. Superstition is the track most people would know from this record, but good lord, this song is funky as hell, with amazing guitar work all over it. The last two and a half minutes of this song absolutely gets me with the repetition of the chorus, taking me to another world. JC

05 Thin Lizzy - Do Anything You Want To Do
This song right here is basically the dictionary definition of 70s Glam Rock in riff, melody and overall vibe. And its dripping with the bands holy twin lead guitar sound. This is the first song from the 1979 album Black Rose (A Rock Legend.) Produced by Tony Visconti and released on the Vertigo label. B

06 Pink Floyd - Two Suns In The Sunset
Does everybody have a song they think of when they think about the possibility of nuclear war? This one is mine. O)))

07 Kikagaku Moyo - Dripping Sun
I hope these guys read this, because I want to apologize for not listening to this album sooner. Its so good, and has been living in my head for the past month or so. This is the opener from their 2018 release Masana Temples. It was hard to pick just one song, the whole thing is full of psych rock goodness. JC

08 Black Dresses - doomspiral
Canadian synth-punk that alternates from singing to deadpan and from crunchy synth to delicate techno...all over the map all and just keeps me on the edge of my seat the whole time, kind of swaying along with it. Great way to deliver stories about rough weekends. O)))

09 Grateful Dead - The Eleven
From Side Two of the 1969 Warner Bros double album Live/Dead. This track was recorded on Jan 26, 1969 at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco CA. Never to be recorded for any proper studio albums. It came out of a true Grateful Dead jam session. In some ways it is the most quintessential Dead song of all time. Written by Phil Lesh in an 11/8 time signature that is very hard to play and also gives the song its title. Ends abruptly. B

10 David Bowie - Blackstar
The title track from Bowie's 26th and final album. An epic opus of a tune. And then he died two days after the album was released (which happened to be his birthday) in January of 2016. He knew how we would feel, and we did. B

11 Dirty Three - I Really Should've Gone Out Last Night
A 10-yard dumpster full of emotion poured through a violin. I always thought this album from 2000 was the best representation of these Australian weirdos, and this is the song from it I always listen to first. O)))

12 SASAMI - Sorry Entertainer
SASAMI has been popping up all over my twitter feed in the last week or so. I finally checked them out, and it fuckin' rips! Grinding riffs and screeching guitar solos. I've been in a bit of a musical funk recently, but this just might jolt me out of that. JC
