01 Red Fang - Wires
Red Fang has been pumping out towering piles of riffs for years, but this track from Murder the Mountains is still the one that I think of when I think of these loud-ass goofballs. (O))))

02 Dan Reeder - Young At Heart
I have relied for years on Dan Reeder to provide me with exquisitely brief songs that give me the distinct feeling of feeling right about being a little bit sad. The guy always delivers. (O))))

03 Yabby You - Conquering Dub
One of the most spiritual of all the Jamaican dub artists, Yabby You aka Vivian Jackson, gave the earth this album Conquering Lion in 1976, recorded by his band The Prophets, hoping we could all achieve the next level of... something. This is that heavy heavy dub sound that I have grown to absolutely love. This particular track is from a winter 2021 issued expanded version of the original album, brought to us so lovingly by the Pressure Sounds label. B

04 Steppin' In It - My Setting Sun
Love a good sad harmonica song. (O))))

05 The Ventures - The Creeper
One of the most fabulous songs by the Tacoma Washington wiggly instrumental surfy-skatey-dancey rock band of the swingin' 60s. I mostly picked this song for the title (they have dozens more songs worth hearing.) From their 17th(!!!) studio album, The Ventures a Go-Go, released in 1965 on Dolton Records. B

06 Rosali - Bones
In general, when listening to music, I find myself gravitating to female artists more often than not. This new record from Rosali has been getting a lot of props from other musicians I dig, including Ripley Johnson from Moon Duo and Rose City Band. On this particular track, I'm imagining a mixing console that has a knob on it labeled 'CRAZY HORSE' and its turned all the way up. That's the stuff I like. JC

07 Slift - It's Coming...
More of that over the top heavy rock that if it went one step further could be a theatrical space opera. A simple power trio from Toulouse France the band recorded this song for their 2020 album Ummon, released by Vicious Circle and Stolen Body Records. Beauty mixed with Nasty mixed with Space mixed with Power. B

08 Natural Child - Benny's Here
There really isn't much to say about this song. Just a solid six and a half minute jam for people to get weird to. JC

09 Daniel Avery - Hazel And Gold
All hail, brand new music from the English electronic clubland dreamwizardian. A bedazzled song from the June 2021 album Together In Static. This is one of the many artists who didn't intend to make a new album during Covid lockdown but the work just flowed from their mind to their fingers to out ears in an almost seamless fashion. Co-released by the labels Phantasy and Mute. B

10 King Woman - Morning Star
King Woman has appeared in these playlists before and that's because they're awesome. They have a new record coming out in July and this is the first single. It's awesome, and it's nice to have a music video that confirms my long-held suspicion that Kris Esfandiari is a secondary character from an Alan Moore Hellblazer script that has somehow joined us in reality. (O))))

11 Angel Olsen - Drunk And With Dreams
When Burn Your Fire For No Witness came out, I was all in on Angel Olsen. But then her next album came out and it had a different sound that was not my thing at all. Recently I've been going back through her stuff prior to that record and its all gold. Mostly just her and a guitar. Perfect stuff to put on around dusk as the day is winding down. JC

12 Bardo Pond - Call The Doctor
One day while looking for one Low cover, I stumbled across another Low cover that was included on a Spaceman 3 tribute album from 1999. Holy shit, the entire thing melts face, but this one in particular is a monster. It gets played a lot over here. Love the rhythmic, hypnotic sludge that it makes. At the moment, I'm trying to work my way through Bardo Pond's other music, but for now I'm very satisfied with this gem. JC
